MEBLE 2025 in Moscow: Barstools and Upholstery for the CIS Market
At MEBLE 2025 in Moscow we exhibited alongside our local partner. Barstools and upholstery were the two lines that carried the booth — here is what the CIS market is asking for.
Russia and the wider CIS market have their own logic. Buyers move fast, they want models that are already proven in the region, and they value a supplier they can reach without a nine-hour time difference in the way. For our Moscow show we exhibit together with our local partner, which keeps the conversation in the buyer’s own language and time zone.
Two lines carried the booth
Barstools. The swivel, height-adjustable models were handled more than anything else on the stand. The Adjustable Bar Stool with Chrome Base (MSA169), the PU Leather Swivel Bar Stool with Armrest (MSA181-B) and the 360° Swivel PU Leather Bar Stool (MSA202) all use a gas-lift column with a round base and an integrated footrest — the format that fits kitchen islands, home bars and café counters equally well.
Upholstery. Velvet is now as standard in this market as PU leather used to be. The Star Tufted Velvet Bar Stool with Armrest (MSA126) and the Bubble Tufted Love-seat Sofa (MSA-Sofa-C) were the two pieces visitors photographed most. Colours matter here: deep green, mustard, burgundy and navy move faster than neutral tones.
What buyers in the region ask for
- Warm, saturated colour. Not the grey-and-white palette that sells in Northern Europe.
- Waterproof surfaces in the bar range. PU leather is easier to specify than fabric for a café floor, and easier to wipe down.
- Cold-climate packing. Materials and adhesives have to hold up through a Russian winter in transit, which we account for in the packing specification.
- A local contact. Our partner handles the first conversation, and our export team handles production and shipping.
